魅裟 (Missa), which is the solo project of Insanity Injection's guitarist and main composer 魔琴(makoto), is releasing his second solo single entitled "Belphegor." Like his first single from earlier this year, "Belphegor" will be available on a plethora of digital retailers and will most likely only contain one track. The song is licensed through Malformed Maria records, which I am going to assume is a small label he made himself to distribute his solo works. The single will be released on September 15th, 2016. DEVIZE has announced that they will release CDs in the three months 2016/11~2017/01. 『Blood』 -Begin- will be released on 2016/11/03 and will be live-limited 『喰葬』 -Erosion- will be released on 2016/12/14 and will be available in stores. 『CORE』 -Worship- will be released on 2017/01/18 and will be available in stores.

Some pretty cool releases here and there for August, I was mostly content with what I heard. As usual, the rules are pretty simple: you can list what releases you thought were the best, and explain why in a few sentences. You can even pick just 1 album if that's all you've got, and try to keep it to a maximum of 5 items. Feel free to add or remove any albums later if you feel like your taste has changed, etc. Oh, and try to include a sample or two so that others could peep those sweet tunes more easily! Aaand here we go~ 黒百合と影 -「臓器のノゾキ穴。」/ Kuroyuri to kage are a pretty decent band, but they really stepped up their game with this new mini album. The whole thing is just bursting with dirty, crunchy dark sounds and moods, encased in powerful little tunes. The inclusion of the re-worked single tracks was a good choice too, they sound much much better than before. One of the near-perfect indies vk releases of the year for me so far, for sure. 雅-MIYAVI- - Fire Bird / Who knew I'd enjoy a MIYAVI album again after the boring disappointment that was THE OTHERS? I sure as hell didn't! I was even skeptical listening to the previews, but song by song the new album won me over big time. I don't know which producers MIYAVI worked with this time, but kudos to the whole team for forging this badass sound. Partly electronic dance music, partly garage-y distorted guitar jammin', and lots of catchy songs. Perfect party album. Ritual Howls - Into the Water / Immensely bleak-sounding goth rock with minimalistic synths and a biting industrial edge. To be honest, I don't remember much of the actual songs now that I think back, but it's just one of those albums that you put on when you're in a certain mood and it washes over you. Great night-time listening. Honorable mentions UNDER FALL JUSTICE - 醜い拒絶 / This almost made my top list. Chaotic, quirky, overdramatic indies vk that's too ridiculous at times, but somehow still works. Hellbringer - Awakened from the Abyss / Old-school thrash/black/speed metal. Tbh it's pretty interchangeable with a dozen other bands, but it gets the job done.

haha omg I should try doing that... I srsly spend WAYYYY too much time on translations... I usually read the whole thing once, go back and translate it roughly, read the translation and make it sound more natural in English, then compare the completed translation back to the original Japanese to double check if the meaning is accurate *insert long spans of time just staring at it trying to remember English* I might have to switch to your style to retain my sanity as well lolol OMG LYRICS. I don't translate them often cos they literally kill me. I do a LOT of research and consult multiple native Japanese speakers to see what they think certain lyrics mean etc etc. and I try to make it accurate without footnotes butttt fuuuuhhhh haha

yeah i totally feel you XD these days when i translate longass interviews i actually force myself to do it from my phone so that i don't spend too much time on them LOL. what i do is simply read the entire question or answer in the original, remember the gist of it, then type it out in english. i can't say if this works for other people, but i've managed to get reasonably fluent and accurate (though not perfect ofc) translations this way while retaining my sanity. i've also given up on translating lyrics because i can't do it without feeling like i've butchered the original lyrics somehow if i don't append 10 pages of footnotes hahaha cute <3

^ interesting interview, thanks for translating! nice to know the origin of their band name haha and as an aside: i also hope that more people can appreciate how much time/effort it takes to translate these stuff in general.

I think would order them in maybe this fashion 1)Mask 2)Panic Panic/Utsotsuki Pierrot/Cat walk After further listens I can't decide which I like in order after "Mask" but I think that Mask is my favorite of all 3 songs... It is very old Purple Stone and that's what got me attached to them in the first place so I'm sold on its goodness.... Its more harder feel with them captivating vocals got me all in love so I'll go with that. Panic Panic as I mentioned before got me ready to dance all the time just like Michael's Thriller so that is already a big plus haha. Cat walk was the one that I was going to actually put last but after more listens I find it to be better than what I previously thought Utsotsuki Pierrot I found to be very lovely on the contrary and its circus them was pretty cool. I like how B-side has its own theme really and I enjoyed the single as a whole like all the rest<3 Still hoping for that album to appear TOMORROW!!!! Guess we shall see

I think we all agree on Panic Panic being a killer track, especially live About the B-Sides: For me personally Catwalk features some of the best vocal lines they've ever written and I love the song for its catchiness. Saw it live at their one-man and it grooves as fuck Usotsuki Pierrot reminds me a little bit of Galeyds Masquerade, because of the circus melody. It misses the punch in the riffs and the chorus, while having a hell of a pre-chorus and a really nice bridge. But in the end nothing more than a filler track, although it's a decent song. MASK sounds like a leftover of the Nexus-Era and I think they also mentioned in some interviews, that the song was written three years ago. Could be a nice live-song and I like it really much. Good old Purple Stone if you ask me. In the end I'm totally satisfied with their 5th Single and can't wait for the next release!

I still haven't listened to the whole single, but bought the title track from iTunes. After listening to it x times, I realised it really reminded me of CINDYKATE and their party-like tracks :') Can't wait to listen to more from PS

Yeah they're both coming to an end. There have been rumors from the start that both bands were temporary and would eventually become one band but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly. I'm kinda sad because Hakujitsu is fucking lit and I'm digging Kurohime now but I'm still looking forward to seeing what they're gonna do. My fingers are crossed for a new band with Jitan (their support bassist)

Honestly imo you have to be a certain type of crazy to accept VK especially those indiefag bands lol I have vkei bandmen friends and they also say that most people that have their arms open to vk are crazy. I mean compare vk lyrics and visuals to kpop... Vk is and never was meant to be super popular.

there are two dudes on youtube i know who have been reacting to vk and jrock in general in some videos the first dude just reacts to whatever people send to him it seems, meanwhile the 2nd dude does a bit of research on google and reacts to 2~3 videos(he already reacted to a bunch of other bands). i think it's really cool that they do this.
