Do people still listen to D? Because I just was gifted their newest single and it's really beautiful.

It's so nice to talk to people who like j-rock again. It's hard to relate with a lot of my friends because not a lot of them like the same music as I do. So this, this is nice. I feel so welcomed.

Well it also doesn't help that I'm really into like....two bands that I'm still actively buying merch for, that being Dir en grey and D. lol. I have no idea who all these new bands are, it makes me feel so old. Almost every band I listen to has disbanded.

I felt the exact same way when I first got back into visual kei last year, lol. I also felt inundated seeing all the new artists/bands who I didn't have much idea about x_x;
But MH is really good at posting about new artists and their releases, so hopefully you'll be able to find some new amazing bands to listen to soon ^^

I booked my hotel room for my trip to Japan in October. And I'm definitely going to go both concert hopping, and visual Kei shopping. But the only bands that I really like that are still doing concerts are Dir En Grey, D, Matenrou Opera, Kamijo and One Ok rock!
What are some bands that I should check out? Maybe buy some cheaper cds of theirs while I'm at Closet Child? Also what places should I go to? I'll be staying right in the heart of Shinjuku, right by the subway/train, so I can literally train anywhere.
I know that I'm going to go to Like An Edison, Jishuban Club, and Closet Child. But I definitely want to explore Tokyo. The last time I went, I didn't get to do what I wanted to, but this year I'm going to be ONLY in Tokyo, so I want to experience as much of it as I can! And go to concerts! (I only went to one because I had pre-purchased tickets.)
I just hope the bands that I want to see are playing while I'm there haha!
I'll be there October 24th - November 7th, so if anyone has suggestions as to what I should do during that time, I would LOVE to hear them!! ❤️

Ooh, nice! I love visiting temples and shrines. I believe there are some temples/shrines in Tokyo to see. The most famous one is the Asakusa shrine. There's also a famous shrine in Harajuku called the Meiji-jingu Shrine. (Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the furisode ^^;)
Here is a more thorough list of shrines and temples I found online: https://trulytokyo.com/tokyos-best-shrines-and-temples/ Hope that helps
Yes! Akihabara and Ikebukuro is like anime heaven XD So much anime goodies there, lol.

I'm guessing by your responses that you either live in Japan, or have been there enough times to know quite a bit about it. XD I may be asking you some questions as the months go on, so that I'm not totally lost and such haha.
I'm definitely going to have to buy a second suitcase, one for solely merch, and one for clothes lol. I want to make sure I have enough space for all the stuff I am planning on buying. I'm so looking forward to this trip, it's way overdue.
-
I only wish I lived in Japan ;w; It'd be so much easier to buy goods and CDs and to see the bands play live XD I've been there before, so I know a little bit about it ^^ So no problem. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to help out
I was just thinking how it might be a lot for only one suitcase, lol. When was the last time you visited Japan?

Here ya go, friend. Some D for you~

Sorry to pop into the conversation, but I just wanted to say that this is one of my favorite songs by them XD And the making-of is really funny, too. Nice share, @RaeDesu!

Just listened to it. That was fantastic! People really hate these guys? How?! I love the guitars, the vocals and love the way they incorporate some classic Japanese instruments! Reminds me of Waggaki Band's music. Definetly will check them out soon! The only thing that sucks is that my phone with a measly 32GB is loaded to the brim with VK artists XD
-
@monkeybanana4 I love this song too hahah, it's a great upbeat song.
@psychonnect_rozen I'm glad you like them! They're great, my absolute favorite band! ❤️

❤️ They are so lovely. I love Ruiza so much, and he always looks so handsome out of his costumes and without makeup. And Kamijo is always good looking too haha.
You're welcome! They're not very good cuz I took them with my phone, but once I get a scanner maybe I'll scan them cuz I want the Ruiza images for icons and such. ❤️

Would anyone be interested in Ruiza's solo album if I uploaded it? I know D is not super popular but it's a great mini-album and I would love to share the love~

I gave in and ended up buying VIP for Miyavi. I haven't heard a lot of new stuff by him, but he is one of the biggest reasons why I got into Vkei, so I may as well tell him thank you for that hahah.

his current stuff is horrific and ever since PSC dropped his pitiful ass his instagram persona radiates cringe tbh, but I hope you have fun at the concert!

I've been on a Lareine kick lately. I love Kamijo so much, and I've loved him for years. I actually had a friend who got mad at me for liking Kamijo, because only SHE could like Kamijo. So I had to like him in secret. I'm glad that I finally get to listen to him without worrying about her coming down on me. She's not in my life anymore, so I am free to enjoy my music.
-
I listened to Dir En Grey's newest album last night. And I am thoroughly impressed by it. It was really a wonderful album to listen to, and reminded me of a lot of their older music. I didn't like their "Westernized" albums as much as their old stuff, so I am very pleased that they've gone back to their roots. I may even purchase the album since I liked it that much. Definitely a good album to check out.

I completely forgot that Porno Graffitti was still around. Lord, I feel old. XD
-
LORD I remember when that song CAME OUT. XD Goodness, where has the time gone.

I just watched the entire Kamijo 20th Anniversary DVD "La Vie En Rose" and I don't even know how I feel right now. It feels like I've ascended to another realm. It just amazes me how GOOD Kamijo is on stage. I think I'm feeling my past 12 years of love all at once, since I mentioned before that I had to like him in secret, since my friend would get mad if I even mentioned him without her saying something first (Versailles was the exception because I liked Jasmine).
But oh man, I feel so happy that I watched that. It was a great dvd. I really really hope that he's performing when I go on my trip to Japan, because I NEED to actually experience one of his lives.
He has gained the number two spot as far as favorite bands go. Sorry D'espairsRay, I love you, but the only other band that has ever made me feel this way is D. I just. I can't even describe it right now. But I feel so good. I could feel the love he had for his fans in his music. It's so lovely. Even though this was from 2015 and was pre-recorded, I still felt the love through the screen. Such a weird feeling.
But bless you, Kamijo. I hope I get to see you live one day. ❤️

It really does! I was like I KNOW THIS SONG AND THIS ONE AND THIS ONE!
I also noticed that pillar on the cat=walk half way through and was like "....what is that for?" and then once I saw the rose sitting on it I knew what it was for. It was Jasmine's pillar and it was a beautiful segment that they did for him. I cried a bit at that part, especially because they used one of my favorite pictures for him when they showed him on the big screen.
I am definitely going to purchase this dvd after watching it. It's so beautiful, Kamijo is a beautiful soul.

Miyavi is coming to town, and I really want to get VIP tickets, but at the same time, I haven't listened to hardly any of his new stuff (I prefer his older stuff like his Galyuu album)
Decisions, decisions. It would be great to see him, that's for sure.
-
I'm with you 100%. Love his old stuff dearly, and he's still charismatic no matter what he's doing. I feel the same with a lot of VK bands touring internationally. There's the urge to see them because it's rare, but I know the desire is often fed by the part of their discography that they haven't been playing in a decade 😧

Thanks for the follow! And A+ for the Die icon~

Oh yeah, Dir en grey has been a favorite of mine since I was about 12, I appreciated all of their visual outfits hahah

This song started playing on my Spotify last night, and I am enjoying it, went and looked up more lynch. stuff hah
-
My ENTIRE job got to hear me listening to Lynch. the other day, my headphones came unplugged from my phone, and I work in a call center so it's quiet at night time, and I was so embarassed HAHA.
My supe laughed and said it was okay, it had happened to him before, too. And I guess it's pretty common, but I had it turned up super loud so I was all AHHHHHH when my headphones came loose haha.
-
I used to work in a similar environment and had "Touch My Body" by Mariah Carey as my ringtone as a joke for a weekend event with friends. Came back to work and for some reason forgot to put my phone on vibrate. Mid conversation with my supervisor (standing up in the middle of a cubicle row), my phone starts BLARING the chorus. Everyone stops talking, I just slowly reach down, turn the ringer off, and pretend nothing happened. No one spoke of it, thankfully.

Miyavi is on the 26th in Seattle, and I'll be there! Anyone else going to any of his shows?
-
Kamijo's new album comes out this week, and I'm very excited to hear his new music. I have been collecting his solo stuff (FromJapan is my best friend right now lmao), so I had to order it!
