  1. Anyone planning on buying and saving that livestream with something like Internet Download Manager/Video Download Helper/ffmpeg/whatever program or trick of choice?

    I'd get it, but I'm stuck having to eat exorbitant shipping costs on something this month, so I'm unlikely to be able to work this into my monthly budget when all's said and done.

  2. Some tool decided to go into work at the mill where my brother works and brag about how he was hanging out with his brother, who has a confirmed case of the Coronavirus(?!!)...from there, someone told on him to some higher-ups and he got told to go tf back home and they've tried to disinfect as well as they could.

    My Dad has COPD and asthma and he lives with my brother. Plus, my Dad's been over to my sister/her boyfriend's house recently and visits there periodically...and said boyfriend also works at the same mill. So now we have to worry about his wellness since the virus would probably hit him particularly well.

    We may also have to worry a bit for ourselves, too, since Dad is over here often.

    The limited edition is very expensive. We will probably never listen to this edition because I don't know anyone who would be able to pay for such a thing. LET'S CRY!

    Ok shall we collect money and buy the ltd ?

    Just learned I'll be getting the Ltd as a gift, so no worries on that front, I reckon.

    Honestly though, I worry that VIctor Entertainment will do like they did with Ink's special ltd. version (hideously expensive...and then they went and released the live DVD that came with it separately later on and added bonus content to try to entice people into basically double-dipping). It's not my money being spent, but it'd suck to splurge on the limited version of this only for there to be a cheaper option shortly after. I've warned them and all, but I'd still feel guilty if it happened.

    Just to rich fans LUL

    They said around the time of dooAdore's release that it was a turning point to their final phase and Taro implied early in his solo career he wasn't sure how long he was going to be able keep on singing. Unless something significant changed in the past two years, it's pretty possible it will be.

    Kind of interesting that the same guy who wrote "autism -Jisheishou-" decided to collaborate with a group that encourages the polar opposite sort of  views, but okay.

  7. Bumping this in the hopes that somebody can offer help. I keep getting this error nowadays when I try to load nicovideo and haven't been able to get it to stop:

    Can't exactly download anything since nothing will load anymore. Nicozon is an alternative for watching some videos, at least, but I can't manage to download from there either.

  8. Ryutaro from Plastic Tree likes animals in general, but he's especially into cats -- he tweets about his own cat a fair bit, has fawned over other cats on numerous occasions, his bandmates have brought up his penchant for cats before, and there was at least one group interview that had to get partially edited down for brevity because him, the interviewer, and the other guest (Aijii, from LM.C/ex-PIERROT) got on a tangent about cats.

    (On that note, Aiji is pretty fond of cats)

    Also, I'm amazed nobody has mentioned Atsushi Sakurai yet; he's like the resident cat oyaji of VK.

    Looks like they're all flash videos/ flv. Just get one of those "flash video downloader" extensions and you'll be set.

    I use the Network panel in Chrome's devtools, but the above should suffice.

    *Doesn't this just mirror YT stuff, anyway?

    There's definitely some stuff there I've not managed to find through Youtube, so I'm not sure of that.

    In any case, my current FLV downloader doesn't seem to be able to swipe anything from the site. =/

    How do I check out the Network panel you mentioned, if you don't mind?

  11. There are a bunch of rarities I'd like, but I'm broke and have to prioritize two things stand at the very top of my list:

    * There's a certain obscure-ass demo tape from Plastic Tree I'd love to own. The thing didn't even have a title, and there were only 50 copies made, which were all distributed at one specific show they were part of...in 1995. I have literally never seen it around, despite managing to turn up demos -- both for them and other bands -- with even smaller print runs (we're talking  to the tune of 10~20 copies). Which is terribly frustrating, because from what's known about the tape, it has a 'really bizarre (/trippy)' alternate recording of one of their more unexpected songs that shows up exactly nowhere else.

    * "Welcome to the Double Bed", a demo tape for the titular band Double Bed, predating Kuroyume (...and Garnet...and SUS4...) alike as the first band Kiyoharu ever fronted. I was keeping a lookout for the thing for ages, and then had a couple week span where I was hanging out with some of my extended family and didn't keep a close vigil...guess what I learned had finally surfaced after the listing had already ended?

  12. Tracklist has now been given? (I see no announcement of it on his sites or scoial media, but Tower/Amazon.jp/Rakuten et al now show one):

    MOON
            * Original by: REBECCA (1987)
    Omoide Makura (想い出まくら)
              * Original by: Kyoko Kosaka (1975)
    Azami-jou no Lullaby (アザミ嬢のララバイ)
            * Original by: Miyuki Nakajima (1975)
    Tsuki (月)
            * Original by: Keisuke Kuwata (1994)
    Kasa ga nai (傘がない)
            * Original by: Yosui Inoue (1972)
    Kanashimi Johnny (悲しみジョニー)
              * Original by: UA (1997)
    SAKURA
            * Original by: Ikimono-gakari (2006)
    Yasashii Kiss wo Shite (やさしいキスをして)
            * Original by: DREAMS COME TRUE (2004)
    Mokuren no Namida (木蓮の涙)
          * Original by: Stardust Revue (1993)
    Koi (恋)
          * Original by: Chiharu Matsuyama (1980)
    Seppun (接吻)
           * Original by: ORIGINAL LOVE (1993)
    Boukyaku no Sora (忘却の空)
          * Original by: SADS (2000)

    What order the songs will be in isn't finalized

  13. Quote

    I've actually been quite a fan of his covers over the years and discovered some jpop gems I would have otherwise never have known about. This album could be interesting if he goes for older classics rather than something recent.

    His cover of Inoue Yosui's Senaka made 45fun on the Emily EP is syrupy goodness that was a complete 180° turn to hear compared to what he was just doing months earlier when SADS paused the first time around.

    @carddass: Throwing this out there in case it might let you discover another name in jpop/jrock..."Senaka Made Yonjuugo-fun" was written for Kenji "Julie" Sawada (whom Kiyoharu admires) by Yosui. Even though Yosui wrote it -- and maybe released his recording first? -- it's typically regarded as Sawada's because of that background. If you're not already familiar with Julie's work, you're in for a colorful and sometimes very strange ride, especially when it comes to live performances, as the man might count as some sort of proto-visual-kei at some points in his career, honestly.

    Anyway, a release date has been revealed for the album -- it's marked for June 26, 2019 -- and it's stated to include 12 tracks in total. It's going to be released in two versions; a standard edition (2,778 yen), and a limited edition (4,630 yen), which includes a DVD containing a PV for "Boukyaku no Sora", plus short PVs for 8 other songs. The full tracklist hasn't been revealed yet, so the remaining 11 songs outside his self-cover of "Boukyaku" are still unknown right now. And so far, the album is just being called "Covers".

    And I have no info on this part of stuff, but I'm pretty curious (and surprised,) about that autobiography.

  14. He also left Japan for a while and was due for full-scale treatment upon returning, apparently.

    Quote

    yasu, known for being the vocalist of the band Janne Da Arc and for his solo project Acid Black Cherry, has left Japan in an effort to improve his health.

    On August 3 [2017], it was revealed yasu has been suffering from complications that arose from his years of intense activities. His cervical vertebrae has been damaged, and he experiences pain throughout various parts of his body.

    yasu suspended his activities in order to receive treatment for his condition.

    On September 13, Shintaro Kikuchi, a producer for the singer, updated yasu's blog to inform fans of his health. yasu left Japan 3 days ago in order to rest in a climate that was more stable and favorable for his condition.

    "There are several friends with him on site. Because of the constant climate and atmospheric pressure, the constant pain has eased a little, and yasu's body and soul has been refreshed," Kikuchi said.

    Kikuchi stated that yasu will not need to undergo surgery, but still needed time to heal. He is still in pain from his condition.

    "I don't know how much pain yasu is actually feeling. You can touch the affected area and see the swelling and infer how much he's suffering, but he's not sharing true amount of pain he's in," Kikuchi said.

    yasu will remain out of the country until the temperature fluctuations in Japan stabilize. When he returns, he will begin a full-scale treatment.

    yes due that of course he can speak but i doubt he will be ever be able to sing again.  So he lost his voice.

    Isn't the case typically that if speaking (and breathing in general) aren't inhibited, then the ability to sing remains intact? I've not heard of injury of cervical vertebrae knocking out a person's ability to sing, barring some sort of secondary issue.
