Nyasagi got a reaction from suji in Setsuna (ex. THE EGOIST) Arrested
In this case I guess it may be one of these situations:
    - he was a dick and she got angry at him and killed herself, but for some reason he takes the blame, or made him angry and he choked her after losing control
    - she was a psycho fan, who manipulated him into something evil and maybe into choking him, too
    - they were going to commit a double suicide, but he freaked out and ended up not killing himself after choking her

...and before I clicked the topic I thought it was another bandguy, who fucked a minor. Now, why didn't he just say they were doing breath play bdsm and an accident happened? hahaha

You guys are 24 and think you're old and it's too late? I'm almost 30 and all this dating stuff is a weird thing for me. I tried it only once, with a girl, and I hated it, lmao. I also don't have to try to look pretty when I'm not looking for anyone, I want to eat my unhealthy food and don't waste hours on beauty stuff (maybe I should have been born a man, lmao). When I was younger I used to dream about a relationship until I was in one... doing something I dislike to please the other person is not really fun... it also costs money and requires so much effort and you don't even know if it's worth it in the end.

My main concern is whether I'm asexual/aromantic (or both, or maybe I'm actually straight and I don't know it???), or if it's something normal to feel. It's scary to see all these people living in a certain way, while I'm not even sure how it all works and I don't know what I want anymore. Is it also normal that if I were in a relationship I wouldn't like to tell anyone, especially my family? I don't want people's attention on me, it's not something to brag about to others... it's rather private.

You know what. It can be difficult, but the only advice that I can give to that is to stop thinking about it. People love to categorise themselves, I know, but when you seem to fit multiple lockers or none at all, stressing about it is just not beneficial. I've often wondered myself whether I'm bi or pan or whatever, even being told by gay people that I'm gay (which is not true, being that I'm married to a member of the opposite sex), but I get most happiness out of just not trying do define it and go along with what feels alright. Sure this can strip you off of any community you might want to be part of (especially LGBTQ+ community can be so fucking toxic within itself and discriminate against people they don't feel are queer enough to fit with their little niche), but it's better than fitting yourself into a group and constantly being aware that you aren't truly a part of it.

Whichever you are, it's normal and you should not feel pressured to be anything else. You can also be asexual and straight, meaning that you just feel very little sexual attraction to the opposite sex, or the attraction requires a lot. If you feel like finding out is too taxing, you do you. It's perfectly normal to be happy without "that special someone" everyone keeps ushering you to find asap.

This, I feel, should be normal where it's not. I think a relationship is your business and whether you wanna disclose it with family members or relatives is up to you. I certainly hated it whenever my family had some sort of fucking massive gathering and all half-relatives and whatnots were asking: "So do you have a boyfriend yet? Are you interested in anyone?" No, great aunt or who the fuck ever you are, none of your fucking beeswax. Not to mention I absolutely disliked the fact that they were expecting me to like guys instead of girls, but that's beside the point. I never liked fitting into a mould.

That's a lot of swearing. Sorry about that.

I think this is the main reason why so many people don't want to have kids nowadays. The man doesn't earn enough to support the whole family, so the woman has to work, as well... and capitalism is just pushing people to work too hard, so they can't even take care of their family well.

I also agree with you both about the overpopulation, all these issues are probably caused by this... the planet needs less people and not giving birth is one of the humane methods to make the population smaller, but the society is still influenced by the past, some people don't realize that and just continue their old ways of thinking.

I went to their concert just out of curiosity and because I missed seeing visual kei bands live, my interest in the band wasn't big... but it surprised me how much fun I had (even if the sound quality in the venue was one of the worst I've ever heard... I actually liked the Voodoo Club and I would love to see more bands taking photos with these fetish things in the bar room XD. But they should REALLY do something about the sound), they really did put effort into it and included things that I've never experienced during visual kei lives: pulling the first rows forward to lay on the edge of the stage for a few seconds (it really helped to rest, even if it was just for a short moment), headbanging while sitting down, teddy bears thrown into the audience. That was really entertaining!

Nyasagi reacted to Vitne Eveille in I met YOSHIKI and asked about western visual kei
The other day I met YOSHIKI.  I was at a showing of We Are X in Oslo, Norway.  Norway doesn't have a huge VK scene so I was happy he had come.  It turned out to be his first time in Norway.

I asked him "Can western bands be visual kei?"  -  He laughed and replied "Of course!"

So I followed up with "If a western band is to be visual kei, is there something they must adhere to, in terms of style or aesthetic?"

He explained VK is more of a mindset, born out of them feeling like they didn't really fit in anywhere.  As he said, they played "super heavy" and "super soft" music.  He also told me about a festival he hosted recently where the bands were everything from metal to pop, and there was even a band that didn't play music (that got some laughs around the room).  He summed everything up by saying it really isn't a genre, but more of a mindset allowing yourself to be as creative as you want.  And it also generally has makeup.

I am summing these things up from memory.

So here's my take on VK:
    1.  You must be influenced by Japan/Japanese music (because after all, it originates from Japan).
    2.  Make creative use of makeup/visuals.
    3.  Be somewhat diverse in terms of style.
    4.  Be doing your own thing confidently (basically:  be true to yourself, because people and fans can see through you being a cookie-cutter).

So basically, no you don't have to have a lolita in the band.  One member doesn't have to wear a surgical facemask at all times.  You don't have to have death-metal growls in your music.  Some music fans within genres and subcultures get really elitist and that gets irritating, especially when people say that VK is only Japanese (so is glam-metal only truly American?  Can you not make Brazilian samba music if you aren't from Brazil?).  VK is unique in that it is vague but also has a meaning.  A band alone isn't just "visual kei" but "visual kei rock" would be a better indicator.  I think in that sense, the addition of the term "visual kei" before "rock" to me would indicate the above traits I listed, like being influenced by Japan, be somewhat "different" in terms of makeup/visuals and potentially have a diverse musical style.

I had a blast meeting YOSHIKI.  He's a funny and nice guy, and it was an honor having him in Norway.

I'm going to buck the trend in this topic and say I do! But not right now. I never thought to ask my girlfriend if she wanted kids, partially because I didn't want them now either and partially because I just expected her to. The latter part sounds messed up, but I can't do it alone. If I could, this would be a totally different conversation. It's always been "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it", but bridges are euphemisms for problems so at some level, I view childbearing as a problem too. So I guess I fit in here enough to ramble for a bit longer.

The reasons I have for that aren't unique. I'm depressed and probably have an undiagnosed mental illness I'd pass on to my children. The world sucks. I don't want to wake up one day and hear the news that my child was killed for being black. I like video games too much. I'd have to be responsible with my weed usage. I like having money for things instead of money for diapers and formula. My opinions on most of these things may change with time and that's why I can't say no. @The Bread Wolf, maybe the doctors are approaching your problem the way I approach mine and are just deciding for you that in the future you may change your mind and so they don't want to do an invasive procedure now. That's fucked. But as you said, people have far more invasive surgeries for less developed reasons, so the docs should just respect your wishes. And if passing on your genetics isn't of importance to you, you can always adopt or raise fur babies if you change your mind. I believe one can fulfill the need to be a caretaker without having to have babies.

I don't think the concept of not wanting to have kids is unusual. Starting with the toll it takes on the woman's body, coming to the realization that birth is really just the beginning, and then shouldering the responsibility of having to raise another human being is a lot. My friend is having a(n unplanned) child and when he told me, it hit me. I started thinking about all the things I'd have to do and how much my life would change, and it was a daunting realization. I can't imagine the thoughts that go through a woman's head, but one thought that won't leave my head is how lucky I am that I won't ever have to push a cantaloupe out of my pelvis. Maybe the cognitive burden would be less if women didn't feel forced into having a baby (but I'd blame biology before society on that one). If you can come to that realization now, and determine your life is better without a kid than with a kid now and into the immediate future, than more power to you!

On a more global note, I think our generation not wanting to procreate en masse isn't a bad thing. We don't have the resources to sustain our current population as is; the last thing we need to do is double it.

Honestly, the only argument I have for you having kids is to power the next generation of visual kei fans. Get them while they're young, I always say.

I've never wanted to have children, the magical "changing my mind when I'm older" didn't happen. Soon I'll be 30 and still don't want any, I don't even have any desire to be in a romantic relationship, I wish I could just share an apartment with single and childless friends (ideally, nerds and rock music fans ;p) until I die, lol. The whole idea of having to have sex with someone in order to live a normalized, adult life and sharing things together is repulsive to me, as well. I'm not sure if I want to have it, looking at stuff online is ok, but I've never slept with any man and with women it was a bit blah. So, definitely no pregnancy. It grosses me out, as well. It's nothing cute or the reason to be happy, I don't get the whole thing about it. Children are like little aliens to me, I'm the youngest in my family and I've never been around these spawns of Satan for a longer time, I have no instruction manual for them, I can't afford having them, when I'm around one I can be nice and polite, but I would rather prefer my peace.

Unfortunately, other people rarely want to accept my opinion and decisions, unless they're around the same age or younger. I still hear things like "you'll change your mind" or "when you're old there will be no one to offer you a glass of water", and my own mother's favorite son is of course the one, who produced a little human pet for her to play with. The other two children didn't give her what she wanted, so they're worth less... :/ I don't discriminate people, who want to have children, they should have them... but in my culture I'm probably seen as an broken human being, because the family values are strong. I'm feeling lost and I don't know how I'll live my life later, I don't want to be alone with everything and misunderstood by everyone... because the older I am the less childless people with fun personalities and interests are around, so many people turn into boring adults with families, it really scares me.

Yo peeps. I wanted to talk about an issue that's very dear to my heart, and that's called planning a family, or a lack of it. Just like the title says.

At my age, most women (and possibly also men) are, if not already totally at it, at least planning for their own family. You know. Husband, kids, golden retriever, stuff like that. Most women have silently agreed to have children, even if they don't particularly want them, just because society thinks they should.

I stand at the other side of the whole concept: I don't want kids. Ever. I've been told ever since I was a tot that I'll change my mind and when I'm older I'll understand the need to have children. Bitch, I'm older now and still don't want any. In fact, I would gladly have my tubes tied into one hell of a knot to ever avoid even considering the idea that I might be with a child. The idea of pregnancy scares me. The idea of childbirth scares me. I don't like kids. I don't think babies are cute, not in the least. In fact, I believe children up to the age of 10 are, at best, a bore, and at worst, horrible spawns of satan I want nowhere  near me. And yet, medical specialists argue I'm too young (nearing 30 here) to decide if I want kids or not, so they won't perform a sterilisation. Yo, people can decide on a sex correction surgery once they turn 18 but I'm not old enough to know I hate kids and don't want any. And I'm not saying this to mock anyone or say that transgender people shouldn't have the option to do that, but just that both are a part of body autonomy that I think one should have the right to rule over after a certain age.

Are there other people who feel the same way as I do? Ladies and gents who just don't want kids, no matter what? Or people who want them but can't have them? Tell me your thoughts and give us some peer support.

following seikun's impeccable logic all the bangyas in vk are actually secretly lesbian because there's absolutely no reason why straight girls would be attracted to 'feminine' bandmen

while we're on this topic, i also don't get:
    - why there's still the weird division dictating that guys must be into vk as "ongen-gyao" who only collect cds, and girls only go to lives to swoon over hot bandmen
    - why the former is somehow usually conceived as more superior to the latter.... almost every guy who's an armchair connoisseur of vk i've encountered exudes the insufferable air of making themselves sound like consumers of vk who are more sophisticated than "those bangyas over there" aka the "necessary evil" that keeps the scene afloat
    - why the two are even mutually exclusive in the first place, as if being into the bandmen themselves somehow diminishes or effaces one's ability to appreciate/talk about music intelligently
     ...and i can go on.

basically i feel that people (mostly guys, but also girls who are concerned with being viewed a certain way) who actually have the money to spare AND want to participate are given pause because of these problematic assumptions. i've been saizen for bands (mostly very small) and have no problems with the girls or the bandmen themselves so i can't help thinking a lot of these strange ideas are self-imposed. people should just enjoy the scene in whatever way they want (yes, even if you're a guy who go to lives to fantasize about bandmen - what's wrong with that??), instead of losing sleep over what the bangyas in the same row are potentially gossiping about you.

The NAZI officer's uniform is used by bands DIAURA or REVINE to visualize their themes around "dictators, rebellion, corruption". It doesn't need to be a reference to world war II, that's just the last time in history they had international military presence - this is the frame of reference these guys grew up with. This Imperialist dress is the recognized symbol for ruthless government and societal strictness at the cost of the collective human soul (the latter of which is what leads many a young person to art and music for relief and expression).

In one case, the art society TOO rejected the discouraged individual. and HIS response became the reason we have to discuss this..
