I really want to play this mess, I still hope there'll be a English port some day. I heard there are fan translations but they're unfinished/messy. Sure Kanato and Azusa are similar, but Azusa is so much cuter than Kanato, you can't even compare.  Sad to hear that he isn't appreciated. His scenes in the anime always made me feel some sort of way, whereas Kanato scenes just had me thinking how badly I wanted to put him in a mental asylum. Still, Raito is my fav.

idk if this will be good enough for you, but i used this account to read bad endings or confirm if i got smth right, it seems okay. there were some not completely accurate moments, but it's still quite readable.

i remember when i played the first game, i was not feeling that way about kanato, but now i find him so annoying. azusa, well i don't know a lot abt him yet, but the worst thing abt him is that he speaks....very.....slowly.....

why raito? .w. mine two favs are reiji and shu~

  2. im playing diabolik lovers more, blood and the experience is much more cheesy than when i played the first game five years ago lol

i've finished reiji, ayato, subaru and shu routes and have started azusa route. i don't have a particular interest in him, but u've decided to play all new characters routes. was curious about boys ratings and was surprised to see that kanato is always #3 or so, while azusa is always on the last positions. like, both of their personalities are fucking hilarious, but both of them look equally cute, so why...kanato is such a pain in the ass actually, yelling and speaking to his stupid bear, dunno why people love him so much.

anyway, the game itself is a mess, each character would just repeat his catchphrase like every two minutes and there isn't much more going on actually lol. still, here i am playing it convincing myself that i'm doing it for a relaxed japanese practising.

  3. new release is so. fucking. great. you say it's mess i say it's  d i v e r s i t y  i loved so much in earlier visual kei. really, i can't remember any bands with a similar sound, but i think this is a good example of vk evolution.

still wish mio didn't try to sing out of his range but it's not a problem for me until dvd or any live footage comes out lol

release is br00tal, according to the last trends, dark in a very vk way, not over-abusing synth, it's almost perfect imo. it would be without last two tracks.

break it down is a disaster. this just shouldn't have existed. the last track 無慈悲な蒼空 is weak too, mio and issei both overdid it, the solo sounds like too much too lol. sounds like they wanted to show us all they got but it's clearly a fail lol

my fav track is 寡黙と眠り翻弄 so far, i'm a sucker for gothic sound ♡

  4. i just dreamt that i was watching a video tape of a huge event by yellow magic orchestra in shibuya 109, and there welre ymo themselves and many other artists, dancers were voguing with fans in their hands, some artists payed tribute to hide by cosplaying him lol(i don't even listen to hide...), and grimes played a remix of "and then..." by depeche mode...wish such event was real!

i see your point, these two are really similar! but still, there are such things as rip-off, inspiration or simply songwriting cliches and i'd prefer not to accuse a band of ghostwriting or stealing without having proofs. if i'm uncomfortable with what i hear, i just won't listen to the song again and forget about it in a couple of minutes

  6. ok, i think i grasped the concept more or less but i can't remember any other examples of so-called idol kei bands. maybe it's because i don't pay any attention to such bands? i really couldn't care less about both a9 in their current state and golden bomber.

    openly hiring composers

thank you for thorough explanation! and what bands openly don't play their own music? i've heard only smth about arlequin and some other goemon label.

considering that since the second half of the '10 has not thrown some real "quality" or "novelty", something that can be established at the level of "classic", as it actually happened with some releases put out in the period of 2008-2013.

been thinking about this some time ago too, i'm concerned about if we have bands who will be able to replace big shots such as gazette, mucc and so on? but i think it's too early to draw conclusions. also i don't agree that there were no classics released after 2013, the same chedoara drew so much attention i don't think it would be forgotten so easily.

    now the questions

    1) if there's no proof i won't say the music was ghostwritten

    2) since i didn't knew a thing about idol kei until an hour ago maybe i shouldn't talk too much about it w i find nekkichi's definition very reasonable though, since that's kinda what idol phenomenon is about.

    3) idk cause i've only heard about hiring composers for arlequin and some other goemon band.

    4) aaand since i've heard about arlequin having ghostwriters i was pretty much salty about them. i wasn't impressed by their music before that either, so i decided just not to fuck with them at all., but then i had to give them a listen during a trade-off and it was a solid song, not the one i would go crazy about but it was okay. and the thing i liked most in it was vocal, and i hope it was the voice of the actual vocalist ww so i'm not too hard on them now, but i'd still prefer that rock bands wrote music themselves.

    5) like i said before, i don't like ghostwriting in rock music. for me rock of any kind still means some kind of rebel, and there's no rebel in playing what someone other wrote for you. not all vk bands are rock bands though, so my explanation isn't very accurate, but i hope you get what i mean.

    6) i've had a break from vk for a couple of years, and still here i am, so i can say vk means really a lot for me. the reason i've returned to this mess is it resonates with me . like, i think it's pretty obvious what vk can give me what other music can't. i'm speaking not only about the visual aspect, but like have you heard something like lolita23q, nightmare, 9gbo and so on? i know vk is inspired by other genres but the final product is unique. but of course visuals are important too, not because these boys are cute but because people create a certain image, a fantasy, and i love how people are making themselves pieces of living art.

  7. well all over the world girls fall in love with cool rockers and bangyas do have a real chance to get a relationship with a bandman. honestly, i think if i was living in japan and found out my honmei got married i think i would be really upset! idk how i'd react in such situation... but my honmei is a divorced father luckily  but being too offensive is a no-no, we all should be respectful .w.

    What does it mean?

I saw some people saying that he used too strong words but I don’t get what he said that pissed them off

i'd prefer not to translate it without understanding the context fully cuz that might lead to confusion, but well, it's something like "people who have nothing to do with this and are not even fans must stop being noisy"
