  2. I just got laid off. And I'm moving into a new apartment on my own in six days. I don't know how I'm going to stay alive.

I'm sorry. I wish you the luck to find a new job soon. 😟

  3. I woke up to ELLEGARDEN playing a campfire acoustic live on YouTube. I did not expect to cry at 7:30 in the morning listening to "make a wish" acoustic. That song's somber tone really comes out when played acoustically.

They only played like 10 songs and talked a lot, but since it was in the middle of the woods, they were pretty quiet and I couldn't understand much. Hopefully they post it after. I'll keep you posted if I see it pop up.

  4. I just watched Kamen Rider Zero-One episode 43 and it takes place in the same warehouse that JILUKA shot their PV for Lluvia!!

  5. I FINALLY have internet back after having a massive wind storm blow it out FIVE DAMN DAYS AGO ...

  6. I'm going to lose my mind ... iTunes did this thing where it would just randomly decide to end tracks imported into the library and move to the next track. Somehow, people figured out how to fix this, by playing the song for a fraction of a second, then closing deleting the track and re-importing it. Some dude created a script to do this for you and it seemed to work like a charm.

Now I've updated my macbook to Catalina and iTunes doesn't exist anymore, thus replaced by the Music app. So now the script doesn't work and now everything I put in my library does the same thing. I'm losing my shit ... nothing I add to my library will play properly.

That sounds horrible. I swear, iTunes/Music gets progressively worse with every release. The new UI is a downgrade, and I have mega issues uploading songs to my phone, ugh.

They think they're making it easier to integrate things to your iphone, but honestly it seems to be getting worse and worse with every "update."

  7. What's up with bands I like getting their twitter accounts hacked/locked? nurié is the latest ... though they said they have news to announced in a couple hours.

  8. I made an appointment to look at an apartment today on Friday, three days ago. I look at it today only to be told it's taken already ... when they're not open on the weekends. Why show a place if you're not truly going to offer it?!

  9. Being told you need to move during this pandemic is probably one of the biggest dick moves you could do to someone ...

  10. Seiya needs to stop spending so much time recording Deviloof play through videos and more time writing new music. Dude, you left the band and now it is time to move on.

My guess is that he probably moved to Tokyo or away from Osaka, where Deviloof is located, hence leaving the band. But that's entirely conjecture. Regardless, the dude needs to focus on the future.

He's definitely not in the same place with his new members. So it's more like an online project or something.

  11. Nothing quite like getting told you need to find a new place to live while you're furloughed during a pandemic ...

  12. Terrace House 2019-2020 has been canceled. I can't say I didn't see this coming and I honestly don't know how the show will come back after Hana's death. Why can't we just be nice to each other, or at the least, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Your words have consequences.

  13. Why do I always find myself living with people who don't know how to close doors without slamming them?

  14. Rest in peace Hana Kimura ... I'm at a loss for words ...

  15. I just completed the Pokedex in Pokemon Shield!! 109 hours and 26 minutes and my first Pokedex completion since Yellow.

  16. I'm torn on Ghost of Tsushima. It looks like samurai Assassin's Creed and while that is a great idea, I can't help but feel like this is cultural appropriation ...

Just because it's a Sony first-party game doesn't mean it's Japanese. It's developed by Sucker Punch, a studio from Seattle. Their latest State of Play states lots about how it's inherently and clearly an American production heavily influenced by old films by Kurosawa and the like. I think it looks great and I'm very excited for it. The cultural appropriation comment was a thought and it is, by definition, borderline appropriation.

    3. secret_no_03

      secret_no_03

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that Sucker Punch aren't going to be getting anywhere near what the publisher is, they're a developer underneath the Playstation brand, if it were the other way around then yes that's definitely cultural appropriation. That being said the black and white filter and Japanese subs shows that this is more or less a love story and homage to the works of Kurosawa and others.

Alright, I can see that. It's a love letter rather than the content being taken out of context.

  17. Is it just me or does anybody else hear "smoke weed" at around 2:14 in DIMLIM's song "Before it's too late"? You can hear the lighter flick (a weird common trend in VK right now for some reason ...) and then it sounds like some native English speaker say "smoke weed."

  18. I just realized that SARIGIA's RUIN's intro is pretty much the same as The GazettE's DOGMA. Why did it take me this long to place it?

  19. I survived the purge at work ... the first time they've had to lay off employees in 60 years. 20% gone. I'm still employed for now, though ...

Just hope that at least when it does come time for you to be up to bat, that it's a simple furlough and not a layoff. I'm fucked cuz I'm pretty sure they are going to sever my contract with the company I work for, but it also means I can apply for unemployment since it will be a layoff.

      Good luck dude.

@YuyoDriftGood luck to you too, man. I honestly hope this all blows over before it comes to a second round of layoffs for myself and before they terminate your contract. Yesterday was a hard day at work for everyone in the company and afterward there was a conference call where they expected everyone else to step up for those who were let go. A bit of a mixed bag of messages.

I will give them a bit of credit, though, since they laid off those who were close to retirement age (and probably gave them early retirement) and also some of the chaff who weren't that great to begin with, but they couldn't afford to let go when we were super busy. It still sucks, though.

Hang in there everybody. I'm trying to stay positive.

  20. I'm so fucking scared of losing my job due to this outbreak ... I barely make enough to scrap by and can't afford to live on my own. How am I going to survive if all the airlines go bankrupt?

I feel ya. I'm not employed yet but I've been looking for a job for months and I was set to have a tour around a local shop on Friday morning which would lead to a work experience placement, then a paying job if I did well enough. Guess what's getting rescheduled due to coronavirus.

I work in aviation, too, but I'm almost five years seniority, which is one of the oldest in the department aside from my boss. I'm still worried regardless because of the airline just going under. I know president said he'd bailout the airlines, but the money has to come from somewhere.

  21. I found a live video of nurié that they shot in the middle of A FUCKING MALL! That takes a lot of balls.

  22. I don't know what to do ... my girlfriend of three years told me she really has no interest to ever get married. Happy Valentine's Day. I feel like I've wasted a lot of time, effort, money, and emotion. I'm not worth it.

CAT5 put it way more eloquently than I can, but I agree...I don't ever understand the point of 'trying' to make things work by forcing square pegs into round holes for the rest of your life in misery missing out on what you really wanted.
To me, someone must love an equal amount that I do them, and if it was socially acceptable I'd definitely be one of those people that just delivers a written list of things that are most important / non-negotiable to me up front and want to know the same of them, because why not? Shouldn't utmost honesty be the foundation of being bound with another person. Idealistic, whatever, but you should never compromise your own ideals, it'll only rot away whatever love you had initially until it's an empty shell and the partnership becomes just one more disaster you can see in public (or at dysfunctional holidays) every day.

While it's tempting to want to please the person you love above yourself, I don't recommend it, especially not for something you hold so seriously.
This is from someone who cannot care less for institutional marriage, only for the practice of being bonded together that transcends state. Which seems to be very important to you, and at three years...it really isn't that long, there are many many more people out there who holds your ideals as seriously as you do. Good luck

I'm sorry to hear that mate. I totally feel you. However, I honestly think you shouldnt force your way of thinking to your gf. The idea of marriage should come from 2 parties.

I know it's a harsh truth, but rn you have 2 options:

      1. Stop right away before it hurts you more later in the future.

      2. Keep going dont give up if you think she's worth fighting for.

Nobody else here or in the world can decide those options for you. You are the one who comprehends the whole situation and your own feeling. So take a breather, give yourself time to re-think everything and then make a decision. Insert image from URL

      Hope for the best, mate.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to write all that down for me CAT. It's definitely what I needed to hear and now I have a lot of thinking to do. I woke up to a message from her saying how she loved me and can't imagine her life without me, but is afraid of getting married and having kids because once you do that you don't have an escape (I'm paraphrasing). I still am a bit in the dark at how she feels as she hasn't been able to really explain herself clearly, but we plan on having a sit-down conversation about it all tomorrow. I'm going to explain myself better and say that if she has any doubts on whether she wants to spend the rest of her life with me, then she should maybe spend some time without me to think it over. It's not like I proper proposed to her, this was just the conversation before I should really start planning my life around that, but I was thinking about proposing soon (this year) and now it's all thrown out of whack.

Maybe I put too much thought and effort and weight into this relationship, and that's partially my fault, as I've really only had her on my mind in regards to our future. I wasn't think about bettering myself or even where I would want to be in my life in the future. I just knew that I wanted her to be a part of it.

Thank you again, all, for your kind (and sometimes harsh, but definitely needed) words. This situation is still raw and still new and all still shaky. But I feel better about it all now than I did before. Nervous, but better.

  23. I wonder if there's an interest here for more ... abstract idol groups. One I like in particular is having a "rebranding" so it's a perfect jumping-on point for new fans.

I only saw people holding out Zyean checki for the most part. My guess was gya mostly wanted Ricko's as it was his birthday live and he spent a LOT of time taking cheki back stage before the encore because he cosplayed as Hyde from L'arc en Ciel. They pulled a prank on him since it was his birthday. Boogie and Sena told the crowd that they were going to give him this tiny piece of cake and then after that, they'd play a few songs until the final song and then surprise him again with a real cake. So Ricko came out, got the crowd hyped for the encore and then the background synth started playing Happy Birthday. Boogie walked out with a TINY piece of cake and went to hand it to Ricko, after Ricko reluctantly said thank you and Boogie took a huge bite out of it and then walked away! We all laughed, they played a L'arc cover, another song and then Ricko went "This last song is called ... BLOOD ... FUCKING ... SHOT!!!" And they all played the first bar of the song before the birthday music hit again. Ricko's back was facing the crowd and he just stood there, and went "he~?" into the mic. It was super hilarious. Boogie brought out the real cake and they all said some words about Ricko and his impact on their lives and the band. Zyean was pretty soft-spoken (I've never really heard him talk much before) and was saying how nice Ricko was and how they had similar interests in games and such and Ricko started crying. He held it in pretty well, and then cracked a bit again when Sena started talking. It was a pretty astounding experience. I stood out like a sore thumb being the only gaijin and probably one of six or so men, but I could visibly see the band were excited to see a male gaijin at such a small show.

I still haven't watch it, but the DVD I got was the SZ version. I have to say, too, that Ricko made his way up to number 2 for me after seeing him live. He's so energetic, and ALWAYS on key. He didn't hit a flat note the whole live, plus he was smiling ear-to-ear the whole time. Zyean's still my dude and it was real cool seeing him sing backing on some songs, Boogie too.

It fills my heart to read all this. They really do get along and it shows that it’s not just a bunch of dudes stuck together by a contract, and that friendship and passion shows on stage.

Ricko is such a bright and pure person, he really is one of the nicest people I’ve met. I’m happy to hear he was happy.

Omg please let me know how Sena sings 🤣

Zyean is awesome, period. He’s so chill and easy to talk to and tries his best to speak English with foreign fans lol I hope you get a chance to go to a M&G someday. They are really fun to interact with.

It's wonderful to hear that you had a great time in Japan and at the live. I love how intimate and heartwarming VK lives at smaller livehouses can be, giving both the fans and the musicians/band a very memorable experience. Aside from the live, I agree with the cuisine part! It's one of my favorites parts - eating authentic Japanese food at the restaurants and food stalls. I always sorely miss it after leaving. Fingers crossed for your permanent move to Japan!

  25. T-minus seven days until I'm Tokyo-bound. I've got two lives (one VK, one idol) planned and maybe a third (non-VK). It's a shame most of the bands I want to see won't be around the weeks I'm there. Anxiety is on high alert.
