BELIEVE IN STEVEN!

As far as kids shows go, this one is pretty alright. In fact, it pretty much has a cult following and like other fandoms the majority is annoying and childish, and for the most part weird. Just look at me amirite? Anyway this show surrounds a young boy named Steven Quartz Universe who is half Gem, half human being. Gems are basically humanoid aliens with human like appearances, or monster like appearances. They can take any shape and size, their gems are the source of their physical forms and their energy. Steven, a young gem in training is cared for by three Full gem rebels named Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst. Garnet, a stoic , rather quiet and sometimes brash individual. Pearl, a very...uptight, composed and uppity individual and Amethyst the fan favorite of the trio, is basically how a teenager acts in a nutshell. The story itself follows how the gems rebelled against their Homeworld and their kind to save the humans since their kind wanted to hollow out the earth. Rose Quartz, Stevens dead mother, felt that hollowing out the earth and wiping out all life on earth wasn't fair to the inhabitants of the earth, so they (Rose and her three companions) rebelled against their kind and stayed on earth. There Rose met Greg Universe, the soon to be father of Steven. From there they conceived Steven but the catch is Steven and Rose cannot exist at the same time, so in order to give birth to Steven, Rose had to give up her physical form. In other words she had to die for her son to be born. This show is funny, cute , and feelsy. It also has lots of Lesbians, and that's a ballsy thing to do in a kids cartoon but thats why I respect it for what it is. An attention grabbing kids show about a young boy and his Lesbian Space Rock mom figures. All jokes aside though, I like the show. It's bold, it evokes alot of emotion and attention, Negative and positive. Lots of people don't like that Lesbianism is a prominent theme in the show being that it is a kids show. But I really don't think that should matter, it's a really good show by my standards.
