Best free vocal recording and editing software?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about recording covers but my budget goes as far as finding any instrumental I can, then recording in audacity. I have barely enough funds to buy a mic, but I'm going to buy one I've seen for £55. I just need to know if there's any decent vocal recording and editing software that's free. If I have to pay a small amount fair enough but I need something.

A lot of people that I know tend to go with REAPER. There's a 60-day free trial with it, so you can have plenty of time to see if it works for you.

I'll check it out, thank you!

I'd also recommend Reaper.

Oh, also, if you want a good, cheap Mic. Check out Pyle mics. They have these really good SM57 clones that cost 12 USD (I believe that's 8 pounds) and they're known to be really good for the price. The build quality isn't the best, but the sound quality is pretty good.

It's the Pyle PDMIC 78
